Hilary Duff On Controversial Miley Cyrus Pics: 'Who Am I To Judge?'
30 April 2008 || By Krystal

First, Jonas Brothers frontman Joe Jonas came to Miley Cyrus' defense, after snapshots showing her in her bra and underwear surfaced online. Now it seems that Hilary Duff is in the "Hannah Montana" star's corner too.
Tween star Duff told People.com that she's not about to pass judgment on the 15-year-old pop sensation — and Disney's main moneymaker — just days after Cyrus issued a statement apologizing both for the controversial photos and for ones she'd taken for an upcoming Vanity Fair spread. Cyrus, who expressed embarrassment over the pictures, appears to be topless in the images, which were shot by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.
In the statement, Cyrus said, "The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots. I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen, and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone. Most of all, I have let myself down. I will learn from my mistakes and trust my support team. My family and my faith will guide me through my life's journey."
"Everyone goes through things and takes their own path," Duff told People during a junket promoting her upcoming film, "War Inc." "Who am I to judge decisions that she made?"
Duff, however, said she would never elect to follow Cyrus' lead. "People are pushing you to do something, and if you want to do it, that's your choice, you know?" she said. "It's not what I would choose to do, but if she did, then that's fine. That's her choice."
Duff — who is 20 and has seemingly managed to evade the same pitfalls that have tarnished the reputations of contemporaries like Vanessa Hudgens, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears — said she has long relied on her family and friends to guide her professional decisions.
"I've had a lot of help from people," she explained. "It's a joint effort with my family and everyone helping me balance my life."

Hockey Is Hilary Duff's 'New Obsession'
30 April 2008 || By Krystal

Hilary Duff can put away her Hockey for Dummies book. She's a full-on fan now, thanks to boyfriend Mike Comrie of the New York Islanders.
"[Hockey] has kind of been a new obsession," Duff told PEOPLE at Monday night's premiere of her new film, War, Inc., at the Cadillac Lounge at Tenjune. "When I'm in New York, I'm going to hockey games a lot."
And Comrie returns the favor.
"He sits through days of press, of me doing interviews, like one after another after another, and doesn't complain about it," said Duff (who stars alongside John Cusack and Marisa Tomei in the offbeat political satire). "He was a good sport today."
The 27-year-old Comrie also joined Duff – wearing a black Dolce & Gabbana dress and Christian Louboutin pumps – at her premiere, part of the Tribeca Film Festival.
"It's fun to get all dressed up," said the 20-year-old. "I feel like I haven't done it in a long time."
After the screening, the two chatted with moviegoers before heading over to Meatpacking District hotspot Tenjune for the after-party.
The too-cute twosome held court in the VIP area with Duff's sister Haylie. But they only had eyes for each other, whispering and sharing brief kisses all evening.

Hilary Duff on Joining 90210 Spin-Off: "It's Not True"
29 April 2008 || By Krystal

Hilary Duff isn't 90210-bound after all.
Last week, reports surfaced that the singer has been offered a part on the upcoming CW spin-off.
But when asked by Usmagazine.com about starring on the show at a junket for her action film War, Inc., she said, "No, it's not true."
The show has landed another famous face, though.
Full House alum Lori Loughlin has signed on, a CW rep announced Monday.
She's been cast as Celia Mills, a former Olympic medalist and mother to central teens Annie and Dixon.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, writer Rob Thomas has also been looking to potentially recruit Jennie Garth to reprise her role as Kelly Taylor.

Hilary Duff to Star in '90210' spin-off?
25 April 2008 || By Krystal

Step aside, Shannen Doherty. Hilary Duff just might be the new face of Beverly Hills, 90210.
Sources connected to the series reveal exclusively that producers for the CW's 90210 remake have reached out to Hilary to offer her a starring role in the series.
No word yet on whether she is interested in the role and at press time, we have not received comment from reps for the CW or Hilary.
According to sources, Hilary's potential character is that of Annie Mills. As I reported last month, Annie is a Beverly Hills High student who is into theater acting, just like her predecessor. But instead of Color Me Badd, she’s listening to emo bands. She yearns to fit in with the alternative crowd and leans a lot on her adopted brother, Dixon, too.
She likes to be on stage, and she's cute as a button...sounds like a perfect match for Hilary.

Stars & Their Moms: Hilary Haylie & Susan Duff

Haylie, Susan and Hilary Duff ON TOGETHERNESS.
Hilary: "One of my favorite memories is the drive we would take from Texas to L.A. We would do it a couple of times a year. We'd be in the car together."
Hayley: "We would listen to The Judds and my sister would cry, 'I don’t want to listen to The Judds anymore!'"
Hilary: "We would have so many animals in the car, my rabbit, a dog, a mouse, my fish. Haylie killed my fish because she put her straw in and blew bubbles."
Hayley: "OK, that’s not true."
Susan: "They even had those little computer animals that would beep because they needed to be fed."

1. It's been decided that the version of "Reach Out" with "The Prophet" will be released as the original version of the song. (Meaning the tour version without "The Prophet" won't be released & the version with "The Prophet" will not be labeled as a remix.) It will be sent to the Pop, Rhythmic & Urban radio stations.
2. The video will also feature "The Prophet."
3. Hollywood Records is still debating on the best time to release the single. On one hand they want to release it before July & promote it throughout the summer. On the other, they're wondering if it'd be better to release the track around the time that "Greta" comes out.

Questions asked:
4. Is it true that Hilary will be on Timbaland's "Shock Value 2?"
A: Not at all. They have not collaborated.
5. How did the whole "Reach Out" & "The Prophet" collaboration come about?
A: Hilary recorded the song to premiere on tour back in July 2007. It was originally going to be only her on the track. Ryan Tedder, the producer of the song thought that the song would benefit with a rapper on it. He asked his good friend, "The Prophet" if he'd like to contribute to the song. After discussing the collaboration with the label, Ryan got permission for the rap.
"The Prophet" was very thankful for the opportunity & is eagerly anticipating the release of the single.<>

Hilary Duff Dishes on Avril, Lindsay and Miley
17 April 2008 || By Krystal

Hilary Duff may have been in show business for a decade, but she's never gotten used to tangling with her fellow celebutantes.
"It's hard to find people who don't feel like they're in competition with you," she tells Allure in its May issue.
But while Duff, 20, may try to stay out of the fray, she can't help but chat – a little, anyway – about some of her peers.
She dishes to Allure about Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne:
• On Lindsay Lohan: "Supposedly, I stole Lindsay Lohan's boyfriend [Aaron Carter.] We were, like, 13! And I've never stolen anyone's boyfriend! I don't know how you do that! . . . She was talking about it and I wasn't. It made us both look bad and put up a big weirdness. Really she was just a girl my age. We are fine now, by the way."
• On Miley Cyrus: "We don't have each other's phone numbers. But when she meets me, she's excited. It's cute – I see a lot of myself in her."
• On Avril Lavigne: "I said something about how she didn't like her fans dressing like her, and how she should appreciate that because it's a compliment. She called me a goody-goody [Lavigne called Duff a 'mommy's girl' in Newsweek] Everyone is trying to prove who they are, and their position. So, I'm 'the good girl.' She's 'the bad girl' or 'the party girl.' Sarah Jessica Parker doesn't take her clothes off, but she's not a 'good girl.' [Adult actors] don't get tagged like we do."

Hilary Duff for Allure
15 April 2008 || By Krystal

Clean-cut reputation aside, Hilary Duff says she's no "perfect prude girl. I like to do normal things that 20-year-olds do." Well, any other 20-year-old with two movies on deck; a new album, Dignity; and a multimillion-dollar empire, that is. View exclusive outtakes from her shoot with Michael Thompson in New York City. For more photos and the story, "Good to the Bone," pick up the May issue of Allure, on newsstands now.
Hilary Duff is on the cover of Allure magazine next month (the issue is out April 22nd) and the mag gave us sneak peak of the interview ("I'm not a perfect, prude girl. I like to do normal things that 20 year-olds do, but...I don't want that attention. If I can't get any from what I'm doing now, I'll figure out a different plan," the actress/singer says) and its gorgeous Bonnie-and-Clyde-inspired photo shoot.
Inspired by the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde, Allure creative director Paul Cavaco dressed Duff in a Marc by Marc Jacobs sweater, a dress by Derek Lam, a scarf by Chanel, and a beret by Kokin. Makeup artist Brigitte Reiss-Andersen modeled Duff's makeup after Faye Dunaway's in the movie, while Duff posed in a "sexy Midwestern way." Reiss-Andersen used a "ton of lashes," a dab of white-gold shadow in the inner corners, a blonde brow gel to mute her eyebrows, and a pink-peach blush. Reiss-Andersen created "barely there" lips with a dark beige pencil because "Hilary's a gorgeous girl. I wanted that to come through."
Duff is now taking on more adult roles: She plays an "oversexed" Eastern European pop star in War, Inc., and a girl obsessed with suicide in Greta. Is she worried this will alienate her Lizzie McGuire fans? "I don't want to restrict myself from doing things that stimulate me just to make them happy...if they continue liking me, that's cool, but I don't want to cater to them. I'm not 13, 14, or 15 anymore."
Although she says: "I'm not good at loving the red carpet and knowing how to pose the way you're supposed to," Duff has had boyfriends in common with Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie. At 15 she began dating Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden, then 24. With almost a decade between their ages, "He was never nervous, like, 'I could get arrested,'" she says. But does admit, "It looked bad." These days she's with New York Islanders center Mike Comrie.
Growing up in the spotlight, Duff felt pressure to diet, but says she's eased up. Duff felt the scrutiny of her appearance: "I don't think I ever looked sick, but I really watched what I ate. You lose touch when you're so obsessed."
Duff was number seven on Forbes magazine's "Richest Celebrities and Stars under 25" and has a Barbie made in her likeness. "[Mattel] would send over boxes of Barbie heads that looked like me. It was so bizarre." Regardless, she's managed to avoid becoming another self-destructive young star. "I don't want that attention. If I can't get any from what I'm doing now, I'll figure out a different plan."

1. Hilary's been getting a lot of questions about her music from her podcasts & has tried to narrow it down to only a few, which she will answer in the coming weeks/months.
2. Recording may start in May.
3. "Reach Out" IS the next single. Due near late June. Other "Dignity" songs were never considered.
4. The plan is either to release "Reach Out" to Chr/Pop radio stations first, & send the remix with The Prophet to Chr/Rhythmic radio stations, or release the remix to both Pop & Rhythmic stations.
5. The concept of the music video is being looked at right now. Hilary's taking the time to read through them herself, & try to figure out which one is best to continue her "sexier" image.

"Reach Out" will be the next single
9 April 2008 || By Krystal

First choice was "Happy", but they changed their mind and fow now they choosed "Reach Out" as single.
